Bishkek, March 6, 2018 / Kabar /. First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Dinara Kemelova met with Head of the Regional Representative Office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Central Asia Ashita Mittal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current project activities of the UNODC in the Kyrgyz Republic and its regional programs that deal with such important areas for security as international cooperation to combat drug trafficking, corruption, organized crime, money laundering and the financing of terrorism, the prevention and treatment of drug addicts, effective border management to prevent cross-border criminal activities.
Kemelova stressed the need to continue and intensify cooperation in combating corruption within the framework of implementation of high-tech National Project Taza Koom and to prevent the involvement of children and adolescents in extremist activities. She also expressed the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to contribute to the development of regional cooperation for peace and stability in Afghanistan, within the framework of the UNODC projects to advabce skills of Afghan government officials in Kyrgyzstan.
